Biography
As a child Ingrid Vermulst made earrings because she couldn’t find the ones she was looking for. And maybe here started the thrive of creating. It took her through a career of creating a hotel, a spa, a cooking studio where she together with her husband designed all the interiors as well. She wrote a book about breast cancer and her motor journey to Spain. And she wrote a second book about Andalusia.
On her journey with entrepreneurship she was always searching for the creative part in herself. As a hobby she discovered painting and photography and now creates pieces for interiors.
Artist statement
I make interior objects from porcelain and stoneware. And through my objects I try to tell you a story.
I hope my pieces remind you of the imperfect, the impossible you can make possible. You can create beautiful things in life, you just have to do it.
I hope my pieces show you the mirror of nature. I love the sea, the calming waves, and I am always looking for stones and shells.
The waves in all my pieces encourage you to flow through life with its high and low periods.
It gives me so much joy to create out of earth, with water, my hands and fire. It’s really magic!!
I hope to encourage you with my pieces to life your own life, learn the impossible and be positive in everything you do. I think that’s the only way we can make a better world.
